Junior Marketing Manager, Part time 19 hours/wk

Pro rata £32,000 to £40,000, experience & qualification dependent, plus profit-related bonus and 8% pension contribution

19 hours per week – flexible – based in Central London also supporting our Reading office and occasional UK travel

Purpose of the role

This successful consultancy is seeking to move its marketing and business development activities onto a more managed basis and requires an individual with strong credibility at both senior management and peer level with the ability to create, implement and optimise marketing and business development opportunities.

The role

Bring your strong marketing skills and step into this new marketing role with a small niche management consultancy, training and research company based in an excellent London location.  You will be the first marketing professional employed by us.

You will take responsibility for the marketing approach, budget allocation, performance and results, working with the company Directors and alongside professional colleagues.

Implement effective marketing and business development activities and campaigns to build brand awareness and knowledge across target audiences with a focus on gaining new clients.  Create events and activities to attract targeted individuals and organisations.  Ensure the company’s brand is represented appropriately across all marketing materials and activities.  Guide company management and staff to play their role in marketing activities.

With proven previous experience of working in a B2B professional services environment you will drive activities covering brand management; client and target engagement; thought leadership placement; the company’s website; conferences and events; sponsorship and advertising; direct marketing campaigns; marketing collateral and media relations.

Requirements for the role

Ideally you will have a marketing qualification and around 8 years’ marketing experience at managing a full marketing mix utilising both internal and external resources such as designers and literature producers.  You will be an effective communicator with strong project management skills and creative thinking.  Your will have excellent written communication skills and the ability to identify appropriate tone of voice.  Your commercial awareness and budget management experience will be evident alongside your effective and efficient time management and organisational skills.

Human Factors Consultant Manchester

£35,000 to £65,000, experience & qualification dependent, profit-related bonus and pension

We are an established Human Factors and risk management consultancy. We work with major hazard industries, government, regulators and Third Sector organisations, mostly in the UK, helping to prevent major accidents, improve public safety and enhance human performance.

We have recently opened a new office in Manchester.  We are looking for someone to help us grow our work both with existing and new clients.  You will therefore have enthusiasm for business development as well as highly developed core Human Factors skills.

You will work in a highly professional business-to-business environment. As a small consultancy, we operate as a team with opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a growing business. You will have a Masters degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline, such as Psychology or Human Factors and demonstrable experience of applying Human Factors within high hazard industries such as Nuclear, Rail and Oil & Gas.

A key element of the role involves helping to develop and win new business, and hence experience in business development activities within a consultancy environment will be an advantage.

 Freelance Human Factors Consultants

We are a leading Human Factors (HF) consultancy, with a strong reputation for delivering tailored services to clients in high hazard industries. We work across the full range of Human Factors, including task and error analysis, Human Reliability Assessment, Human Factors of safety cases, Human Factors engineering, procedures design, supervision, training/competence, safety culture and organisational design. We offer consultancy, training, research and IT applications services.

We occasionally need freelance consultants to support a range of projects, particularly in the nuclear sector.

We work from our offices and at client sites. The majority of work is in the UK.

The following are essential: a relevant first degree and/or Masters qualification, enthusiasm, good communication/report writing skills, knowledge of a broad range of Human Factors techniques and their application. Relevant work experience is required for more senior grades.

Security clearance may be required for some work.

We would contract you on either a fixed term contract or a day rate depending on the extent of the work.  Associates work as part of our project teams.
