This conference, hosted by CIRAS, the confidential reporting scheme for safety and health predominantly in the rail sector, aimed to show enablers for instilling positive safety culture, and how confidential reporting has a role in this.
The conference featured presentations by rail and bus companies including the industry regulator, The Office of Rail and Road (ORR). David Nicholls, HSQE Director at
KeolisAmey Docklands presented about the safety culture at KeolisAmey Docklands based on a safety culture assessment recently conducted by Greenstreet Berman, and support provided by us in creating a strategy and action planning to improve this. The conference was attended by approximately 180 delegates.

GSB, in partnership with SgurrEnergy, have just started work for the Energy Institute (EI) and the G+ Global Offshore Wind Health and Safety Organisation (G+) to develop a “Guideline on reducing manual handling and ergonomics related incidents in the offshore wind industry”. G+ together with the EI, are working together with a core objective to deliver world class levels of health and safety performance within the offshore wind industry.
Develop your knowledge and skills in human factors in a five-day Human Factors Foundation training course provided by the Energy Institute. Delivered by Greenstreet Berman consultants and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (CIEHF), this training course will provide a practical, engaging and interactive introduction to key topic areas, including risk management, work systems, design and non-technical skills; as well as to how human and organisational factors (HOF) can be applied within the workplace.
A key objective for BAE Systems is to understand the extent to which the organisational culture within the company affects product safety. Greenstreet Berman helped to develop a bespoke assessment to assess both product safety and workplace safety culture across BAE Systems.
