The Safety Behaviour Awareness program is part of a major change program to enhance safety behaviour across the organisation and reduce potential risk associated with operations.

The course will be delivered to over 800 first line leaders covering both the gas and electricity networks.

The training program is focused on helping first line leaders understand how they can improve the safety performance of themselves and their teams and ensure that changes in safety behaviour are long term. The course covers leadership and leadership styles, motivation, drivers of behaviour, team development, communication and listening, observation and feedback, and coaching.

The training program lasts 3 days and is highly interactive. Indeed a key part of the training is the use of picture based scenarios and live mock-ups that allow first line leaders to practice using their newly developed skills in real-life situations and receive feedback to enhance their performance, once they return to site.
