A number of manufacturing sectors have been operating voluntary ‘targeted initiatives’ whereby a trade association, often with trade union involvement, sets health and safety targets and supports their achievement against a background of HSE promotion and involvement.
As part of an overall improvement program to improve gas escape management, Greenstreet Berman worked with First Call Operatives (FCO), who detect and manage gas escapes, to review gas management procedures and duties.
This project involved the development, administration and analysis of a safety attitudinal survey for Centrica Storage.
Greenstreet Berman carried out research into attitudes to a proposed ‘scores on the doors’ scheme for publicly displaying food hygiene inspection scores in business premises.
RSSB commissioned Greenstreet Berman to enhance the RSSB safety culture assessment tool in the light of developments on safety culture and its assessment.
We were asked by NICE to carry out fieldwork in order to evaluate their recommendations on promoting physical activity in the workplace.
We evaluated a number of measuring methods employed by the industry. The results helped to establish a common understanding of the subject, its terminology, and tools to assess what opportunities exist for change.
Greenstreet Berman developed an online guide to workforce involvement for the Energy Institute.
Develop your knowledge and skills in human factors in a five-day Human Factors Foundation training course provided by the Energy Institute. Delivered by Greenstreet Berman consultants and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (CIEHF), this training course will provide a practical, engaging and interactive introduction to key topic areas, including risk management, work systems, design and non-technical skills; as well as to how human and organisational factors (HOF) can be applied within the workplace.

A key objective for BAE Systems is to understand the extent to which the organisational culture within the company affects product safety. Greenstreet Berman helped to develop a bespoke assessment to assess both product safety and workplace safety culture across BAE Systems.
